Description: On this course you will be able to study some of the world’s fascinating religions and you will be encouraged to use an enquiring, critical and empathetic approach to these studies. You will cover a range of topics, including learning about the diverse society in which we live.  This course is available at AS Level only
What will I study? You will be studying two modules that cover a range of topics, such as learning about the diverse society in which we live in, cultures, beliefs and traditions. You will be studying some of the different religions of the world and you will be encouraged to use an enquiring, critical and empathetic approach to the study of these religions. You will study 2 modules:

RS 1/ 2 WR Introduction to Western Religions (Judaism)
In this module you will study the Foundations and the Key Beliefs and Practices of Judaism with references to Orthodox and Reform attitudes in 21st Century Judaism.

RS 1/ 2 ER Introduction to Eastern Religions (Buddhism)
In this module you will study Buddhism in depth and explore its central concepts, lifestyle, culture, beliefs and celebrations and their relationship and significance to human experiences.
 
What next? History, Law, Social Work, Counselling and many other areas draw on the skills and knowledge you acquire on this course
Costs? Possible educational visits to Synagogue and Buddhist Temple.
