Creative Media
The vibrant Creative Media programme area encompasses the well-equipped Media Production courses. These courses offer a wide range of learning opportunities in web design, animation, games design, TV and film.
This programme area has strong links with the media industry including being linked to a project that involves the students working with a production team of industry mentors from ‘It’s My Shout’ and BBC Cymru Wales. The project nurtures new and established talent across all departments including pre-production, production, and post-production periods, both in front of and behind the camera with a short film being produced and then broadcast on BBC2.
Students following Creative Media courses may progress to higher level courses, University or to work in interesting and varied fields.

BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production
“I studied the BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production course at Coleg Menai. I learnt
how to record and edit videos and how to record and edit sounds. I also learnt different filming
techniques and I had the opportunity to film, direct and act in different productions. I really enjoyed
the filming aspect of the course and I had the freedom to be creative and choose the type of films
that I wanted to produce. The tutors are brilliant and are always there for you. I’m currently studying
the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Media Production (Film & TV) at the college and the course is
great. After completing the course I’m hoping to go to University to study Media.
