This course is for absolute beginners, and will assume no prior knowledge. It is a course aimed to get you speaking Welsh and use the north dialect, giving you a secure grasp of the pronunciation of the language and the basic patterns.
Part 2 is the continuation of the first year course and is suitable for learners who have studied Welsh previously. After a period of revision, the students will go on to master new language patterns including the future tense, the conditional, giving commands and descriptions.
The Sylfaen course is geared towards spoken Welsh – it avoids the grammatical approach. The course consolidates what has already been learnt in Mynediad Years 1 and 2. Carrying on the emphasis of spoken Welsh, there is plenty of opportunity to practise every day situations aimed at bringing the learner to a fair degree of fluency. While most of the basic grammar has been learnt in Years 1 and 2, this course will teach the extra knowledge required to connect speech and help improve confidence. Year 2 will further enhance your learning, and you will be given the opportunity to sit the WJEC Sylfaen exam.
