Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy

With a Certificate or Diploma in Complementary Therapies you'll learn about body therapy, including reflective reflexology, body massage and reflective aromatherapy, anatomy, advanced pathology, physiology and business studies. Relevant Essential Skills Wales

Applicants must be over18 for Level 3. Preference will be given to those who have GCSEs or O Levels. This course is suited to those from a Care sector or Level 3 beauty background and to mature students showing sensitivity and enthusiasm.

The Level 2 qualification is a prerequisite for the Level 3 and does not allow professional practice.

The Level 3 qualification enables you practice on the Medical Register.

This level 2 diploma is an intermediate vocational qualification which focuses on the development of the underlying principles and practical skills required in the Hairdressing industry. It’s designed to deliver a high level of occupational capability and provide a sound platform from which to progress to N/SVQs FMA Or Diploma Level 3 in Ladies hairdressing. Candidates must show enthusiasm and a passion for the Hairdressing Industry in order to join this programme.

You'll be assessed using assignments, practical hairdressing tasks and online tests.

Students will be required to undertake work experience; one day a week for 10 weeks.

With the Beauty Therapy qualification, you'll get the skills you need to be a successful beauty therapist.

You'll develop essential skills like customer service, health and safety, skin care, manicure and pedicure, eye treatments, waxing and how to work well in the salon environment.

The course is suitable for school leavers and mature students who are conscientious, enthusiastic and have a genuine interest in Beauty Therapy that must be proven at interview.

You'll be assessed using assignments, practical Beauty tasks and online tests.
