Introducing Coleg Menai:
Coleg Menai is a medium-sized Further Education College which serves the North-West Wales area, enjoying panoramic views overlooking the city of Bangor to the mountains beyond. In order to serve a scattered population, the college operates from a number of main sites situated at Bangor, Llangefni, Parc Menai, Holyhead and Caernarfon as well as numerous community and work-based locations. Following the merger with two local authority work-based learning agencies, Hyfforddiant Môn and Hyfforddiant Gwynedd, the college has taken over additional centres at Llanaelhaearn, Penrhyndeudraeth and Llangefni.
Bangor is known as the City of Learning, but is also in an area of great natural beauty, nestled between the Snowdonia National Park and the sea. Coleg Menai’s high-quality teaching coupled with its outstanding facilities and stunning surroundings have led to its growing reputation nationally and internationally, making it an exciting, inspiring place to study.
The College’s main aim is to provide excellent education and training to all. We pride ourselves in offering hundreds of courses suited to all abilities so, whether a learner’s strengths lie in vocational, practical or academic subjects, the likelihood is that we will have something that suits their needs. Whilst we positively welcome practically-minded learners who want to gain ‘hands-on’ skills such as carpentry, catering or plumbing, we also offer a creative and stimulating environment to those with an artistic flair, be it in art & design, music or performing arts. There are ‘A’ levels, diplomas and degrees on offer, as well as apprenticeships and work-based learning. In fact, learners would be hard-pressed to find a greater variety anywhere else.
