Who should attend: This course is aimed at qualified domestic plumbing and heating engineers.
Lerner Pre-requisite entry requirements
- N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence
- Water Regulations/Water Byelaws (WRAS or equivalent)
- Energy Efficiency for Domestic Heating (C&G 6084 or equivalent)
Note: Stand alone vocationally Related Qualifications (technical certificates) are not acceptable
Course content:
The qualification covers the following topics:
- Health and Safety
- Regulations
- Principles of heat pumps
- Horizontal ground heat exchangers (GSHP)
- Air collectors (ASHP)
- System Design
- Installation & Commissioning
- Maintenance & Fault Finding
Training is designed to cover above topics including practical work
Assessment method: Multiple choice GOLA test & Practical assessments
Course progression:
- Building Regulations Competent Person Schemes
- Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS)
