A winning group of Art & Design students from Coleg Menai flew back from Japan last week, having won an impressive third place in the Global Enterprise Challenge Finals 2012.
The talented team beat 18 other Welsh colleges to win the national final held in Cardiff earlier this year and flew out to Kyoto, Japan on the 12th June to represent Wales at the Global Finals. Over 20 nations took part in the global competition, with Coleg Menai’s team being one of only two representatives from the United Kingdom.
The team were treated to a small celebration in the Principal’s office on their return, along with the staff who had supported them throughout their venture.
Dafydd Evans, Coleg Menai Principal was delighted, he commented “This is the first International Award that we have won at Coleg Menai and we are all so extremely proud of the students’ achievements. I’d like to thank all the students and staff for all their hard work. As a college we are all ecstatic with this fantastic result.”
Aled Jones-Griffith, Academic, Creative and Sport Director commented “The students and staff involved have all worked so hard and we all tremendously proud of them. They have not only been ambassadors for Coleg Menai but for Wales too.”
