Mechanical and Building Engineering

This qualification has been devised to provide an introduction to various aspects of the construction industry. Candidates on the course are given the opportunity to apply for the Watkin Jones Scholarship.

This qualification has been devised to provide a broad range of electrical and electronic experiences. This allows candidates a wide choice when embarking on their future career whether this is to university or employment.  The course includes an NVQ qualification which prepares candidates for an apprenticeship.
 

This qualification has been constructed to give a broad range of mechanical and some electrical experiences. This allows candidates a wide choice when embarking on their future career whether this is to university or employment.

 
Candidates will also complete an NVQ qualification which gives more practical experiences and helps to develop a better understanding of applying mechanical and manufacturing theory.
 

This qualification has been devised to provide a broad range of engineering experiences. These include instrumentation and control which are a vital part of the power generation, food and chemical processing industries. These combinations allow candidates a wide choice when embarking on their future career whether this is to University or employment.

The BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Engineering has been developed in the Engineering industry to provide full-time learners with the opportunity to enter employment in the Engineering industry and progress to higher vocational education qualifications such as the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.  

This qualification has been created with local employers to give the skills that are in demand within the engineering field. Candidates will complete an NVQ 2 qualification, the first year of an apprenticeship technical certificate and relevant Essential Skills Wales qualifications. This combination allows candidates to apply for apprenticeship schemes and start on a scheme having competed part of the requirements. Candidates can also progress to a Level 3 qualification within the engineering field.
