Independent Living Skills
The Independent Living Skills programme area is designed for young people who need support to build up confidence, to develop essential skills and prepare themselves for vocational areas and work.
Basic skills, vocational sessions and work experience are key elements of every course and provide the framework to guide the students towards their future pathways. The Programme Area is based at the Llangefni campus.

Pre-Vocational Level 4

“I studied on the Pre-Vocational 4 course at Coleg Menai. I had the chance to study different subjects and I learnt a lot of new skills. The range of subjects helped me to decide what I wanted to do next. Twice a week, we had the opportunity to go to different vocational areas and did some work in the community, which I really enjoyed. Staff on the Independent Living Skills helped me with getting on the stonemasonry course; they made sure that I knew everything about the course so I could decide if it was the right course for me. I’m currently studying stonemasonry at Coleg Menai and I really like the course. I’m looking forward to all aspects of the stonemasonry course and would like to work in this industry in the future. ”
