Celebrating Success Ceremony 2010
Coleg Menai paid tribute to students who have excelled and progressed in their studies during the past academic year at a prestigious Awards Ceremony – Celebrating Success ‘10.
Over 230 Further Education students, award sponsors, college staff and guests attended the glittering ceremony, held at the Celtic Royal Hotel, Caernarfon on Monday.
The event was a great opportunity for the college to celebrate the achievements of students across college courses and to highlight the importance of their partnership with employers.
The event was hosted by the face of S4C’s Sgorio, Morgan Jones, and entertainment was provided by Coleg Menai students Cai Pattinson and Leri Roberts and Jazz pianist, Dr Jochen Eisentraut.

Graduation Ceremony 2010
Higher Education students from Coleg Menai celebrated success at the annual Higher Education Graduation Ceremony at Bangor Cathedral on Friday 9
th of July. 2010 marked the college’s tenth Higher Education Graduation Ceremony so it is a special occasion for the college and its students and their families.
The ceremony involved representatives from Bangor University, Glynd
wr University and the University of Wales Newport. College Principal Dafydd Evans commented, “The higher education graduation ceremony is a special occasion for staff and students alike. I am exceptionally proud of the achievements of our learners and the dedicated members of teaching and support staff” 








Apprenticeship Awards Ceremony: College congratulates over 200 young people in apprenticeship success
Apprentices from Coleg Menai and locals businesses met BBC news Anchor Huw Edwards at an Award Ceremony in the Meifod Hotel, Bontnewydd in March. The event was an opportunity for the college to congratulate all its Apprentices who completed placements while also rewarding outstanding achievement.
This year over 200 apprentices successfully completed their full apprenticeship framework and 9 of these young people were awarded for their achievements on Friday. Jaimie Roberts and Phil Foulkes were successful in the brickwork and plastering category, along with Dyfed Williams for joinery, Elgan Williams for plumbing, David Jonathon Roberts for electrical, Joshua Thomas for automotive and welding, Sean Anthony Griffiths for mechanical engineering, Iwan Glyn Morris for health and social care and finally Darryl Martin Hughes won the Hair & Beauty Apprentice prize.
Phil Foulkes a plastering apprentice who has since gone on to set up his own business was awarded accolade of Coleg Menai Apprentice of the Year.
