Mae Marged a Delyth yn siarad dros banad o de. Marged and Delyth are chatting over a cup of tea.

Delyth: Wyt ti'n nabod Emlyn?

Marged:Ydw. Mae o'n byw yn Llanfairfechan

Delyth: Wel, mae gynno fo gariad newydd.

Marged: Oes?

Delyth: Oes.

Marged:Ydy hi'n neis?

Delyth: Wel, mae gynni hi lawer o bres. Mae gan Emlyn ddillad smart, rwan.
Ac mae gynno fo gar newydd hefyd.

Marged: 'Sgynni hi dy? (short for Oes gynni hi…)

Delyth: Oes, mae gynni hi dy mawr ym Mangor a fflat smart yn Llundain. Ac mae gynni hi Ferrari.

Marged: Wel, pob lwc i Emlyn, ta. !

Mae gynnoch chi… / You have…

We changed mae to oes to form the question. You can do this to any of the forms:

Oes gynnoch chi…? ('Sgynnoch chi…?) Do you have…?
Oes gen i…? ('Sgen i…?) Do I have…?

In the previous lesson, we came across:

Oes gen ti…? ('Sgen ti…?) Do you have….? (familiar)

Thus you have (familiar) would be: hear it

In this lesson we are introduced to:
Mae gynno fo / He has
Mae gynni hi / She has
Mae gan Emlyn / Emlyn has.

Oes gynno fo…? ('Sgynno fo...?) Does he have...?
Oes gynni hi…? ('Sgynni hi…?) Does she have…?
