English Language Programmes

The English Language Programmes are for students of any age and level from beginner – advanced. One attraction to Coleg Menai English language programme is you will study with students come from all over the world such as Poland, Hungary, Spain as well as China, Hong Kong and Pakistan.

You will have a personal tutor to give you guidance and support. You will also be given an individual learning programme to help you progress faster in English and achieve your personal goals.

We organise a social programme to enable you to integrate into the local area and help you make new friends. We have organised trips to places of interest such as the local majestic castles and shopping trips to Manchester and Liverpool .

You can choose from 2 types of English language courses which will be for a minimum of 16 hours per week.


1. General English Language Programme.

This is for students who wish to learn more about working and living in the UK and to practise their everyday conversational skills. Students work towards Skills for Life Qualifications and also have the opportunity to study towards one of the Cambridge Suite exams and IELTS.

Entry Requirements: Students need to have a basic understanding of English language.


2. Academic English & IELTS programme.
(study preparation for undergraduate and Masters courses at a British institution)


This course will help you get the IELTS score you need to go onto your chosen university course and teaches you the necessary academic skills for further academic study at a UK institution. One of the advantages of joining this course is it enables you to learn & practise all your English language skills in a real-life college context as you will have the opportunity to join real seminars and college classes with UK students.
