Libraries

e-ZoneThe Library and Learning Resource Centres provide excellent study facilities and access to a wide range of information resources, including those online. There are combined library and drop-in IT facilities at the Bangor, Llangefni and Parc Menai sites and access to resources for those studying at other College sites.

All of the open access areas equipped with the latest software and hardware and they’re open throughout the College day. The friendly staff at the open access centres will be able to provide you with support, advice and guidance on the eff ective use of IT. The Library and Learning Resource Centre at Bangor has recently been transformed into a spacious area, responding directly to the learners’ request for more room in which to work.

A large “quiet study zone” area has been created which also has free Wi-Fi access.

The Library and Learning Resources (LLR) aims to provide you with:

  • a place to study, whether at a PC or laptop, as part of small group at a study table, or private study
  • access to information resources, including e-books, printed books, magazines and newspapers, or DVDs
  • help and advice

If you study a course at Bangor, Llangefni or Parc Menai, there are LLR premises at these college sites but, if you are based elsewhere, you are entitled and welcome to use LLR services and resources.

Should we not have what you require, we may be able to obtain it for you, from elsewhere. Coleg Menai is, for instance, a member of the LINC y Gogledd scheme.

Once following a course with us, you will be able to access resources and information at Library Moodle.

Holiday opening times:

Despite our intention to ensure that some of the Libraries will be accessible, we advise you to contact us before visiting, particularly if you have some distance to travel and/or specific reason for needing to use the facilities. This may help avoid any disappointment.

  • Opening times will be 8:45-4:30pm Monday to Thursday, and 8:45-4:15pm on Fridays
  • The Libraries and IT Workshops may be closed at lunchtimes
  • The IT workshops will have reduced help desk
  • Users may be required to prove their identity, and association with Coleg Menai
  • A BookBank, in which returned items can be left, can be found outside the Bangor site library entrance.
